The system is not that good but I prefer to spend my time working on IpBike than trying to set up an alternative. It is at least good at keeping the spam away.

It is advisable to 'copy' before you try and post as the captcha stuff is a bit to agresive and the back buttone is not working for everyone.  You can at least then paste and have another go.

Sony are rolling out there ICS update and getting to the Active curently which a good % of IpBike users have. I have not done the update yet but have had one report of an issue while doing it that meant the user deleted and reinstalled IpBike to get it working again, unfortunatly this meant they lost there hostorical data.

IpBike should be good with ICS 15% of the curent users are on ICS but most of these are not curently with ANT compatible phones. The report I have is that after reinstalling IpBike and IpSensorMan then everything worked ok. There was just some issue with the update that led to the ANT system not working.

Here is my advice for doing the upgrade with regard to IpBike and IpSensorMan.

With the unlocked IpBike using IpBikeKey there is an option to restore the database, the file is automaticaly backed up when IpBike starts up. Before upgrading I would recomend taking a copy of the database backup file and the internal_logs files. The database file will be the newest file in sdcard\Android\data\com.iforpowell.android.ipbike\files\temp of the form ipbike_?.db The number _1 can jump backwards so look for the date. The internal logs are in sdcard\Android\data\com.iforpowell.android.ipbike\files\internal_logs you need the hole directory really.

If after the upgrade you have trouble with the ANT system. First try a total power down power up of the phone.

The next option is to uninstall IpSensorMan and reinstall it from the Google Play. As IpSensorMan is the bit doing all the ANT interfacing hopefully this is the only bit that could be causing the problem. You will need to delete the sensors for each bike and then go though the pairing process again to add them back in.

If you sill have trouble then you will need to resort to removing IpBike and IpSensorMan and reinstalling them from the Google Play. If you have IpBikeKey you will find the database restore option in preferences - Other Phone Preferences - Miscilanious Preferences - Restore database. Once you have restored the database then copy over the internal_logs directory. You should also check the auto incrementing ride number in preferences - Other Phone Preferences - logging control - File number and make sure it is beyond the number for the last file you have restored. You will have to set the other preferences apropriatly.

If anyone does the update it would be good to here your experiance good or bad with regard to IpBike. please reply to this forum message. Alternativly feel free to email me.
