BT Heart Rate Sensors

I have added support for the Zephyr HxM ,Polar Wearlink®+ with Bluetooth® and the SportsTracker HRM1. If you have another sort of BlueTooth Heart Rate monitor.  There is an option to try and capture some data from it that you can then get to me so I can try and work out the format and add support.  I consider this to still be beta level but the support is now in the main IpSensorMan app.

Usage.

Unlike with ANT+ sensors there is no totally automatic setup option at the moment.  You need to let IpSensorMan know about the heart rate monitor.  After downloading and installing open IpSensorMan then press Add Bluetooth.  If the device has already been paired you will be able to select it directly from the list.  If not press Scan for Devices having got the sensor active.  The sensor should be found and added to the list.  Select the sensor from the list.  You then need to set the type either Zephyr or Polar or SportsTracker for now.  If it is another sort select unknown.  Once the sensor is on the list you can test connecting to it from IpSensorMan by going Start Service followed by Search. Or after start service you can long press the sensor and select open if you have multiple sensors.  The first time you connect to the sensor you will have to enter the pairing number, this will depend on your sensor probably 0000 or 1234 check the documentation.

Once IpSensorMan knows about the sensor you should not need to look at it again.  In IpBike or any of the other apps it should work automatically as normal.  In IpBike just go Start Sensors and it will use IpSensorMan in the background to look for known Heart Rate sensors.

Other Heart rate monitors.

If you have another sort of Bluetooth (not Bluetooth Smart or BTLE) then there is a good chance that I can add support if I can work out the data format.  If you enable Heart Rate logging and capture a file of the having added your device as Unknown then let me have the file and some indication as toy what your heart rate was doing as well as what your sensor is and I will see what I can work out.

Feedback.

This is very much a beta at the moment.  I don't have any none ANT phones so fully testing myself on a none ANT capable phone is impossible for me and I may of messed up.  Please let me know about any issues big or small.

For information on enabling debug logging in IpSensorMan see the Reporting issues page.  Low level and Heart Rate debugging file may be useful if you have an issue.
