The system is not that good but I prefer to spend my time working on IpBike than trying to set up an alternative. It is at least good at keeping the spam away.
It is advisable to 'copy' before you try and post as the captcha stuff is a bit to agresive and the back buttone is not working for everyone. You can at least then paste and have another go.

Hi Ifor, love the app. However I have a problem that each time I record a new ride the distance always displays tge total distance and not the distance for the current ride. I have tried deleting all the rides but the total distance is not reset. Can you help?

For all the stats that accumulate or are averages rather than being instantanious or moving averages the stats are availible for Lap, Trip, Bike and All. You are clearly looking at the all variation.
As of 1.3.0 there are two ways of specifying which of the varioation you want. Via the 'What' buttons which are optionaly below the main control buttons. Alternativly (added with 1.3.0) if you don't have them enabled for any particular screen you can also long press on the instantaniouis stats area (e.g. speed, cadence, hr, power) and you get a menu with All, Bike, Trip and Lap listed.
I do play to let you specify these options per display slot some time soon as well as having them globaly switchable like they are at present.
