Added a blog section to the site.  I need to sort out the templates a bit as things are not looking so good.

If you have trouble registering then email support @ iforpowell.com and I can force things though.

The system is not that good but I prefer to spend my time working on IpBike than trying to set up an alternative. It is at least good at keeping the spam away.

It is advisable to 'copy' before you try and post as the captcha stuff is a bit to agresive and the back buttone is not working for everyone.  You can at least then paste and have another go.

Apps » IpBike » Controling Power of ANT+ Erg-mode trainers like Wahoo Kickr

Bike Trainers like the Computrainer and Wahoo Kickr offer "Ergo mode", where the rider selects the power that the trainer demands. The Kickr does this through Bluetooth LE and will imminently offer the capability via ANT+ (forecast is this week).
Is there any plan for IPBike to exploit this capability, and thus to be able to control the Kickr's power, and indeed no doubt other trainers in the future?
Many thanks

I have no immediate plans to do this. There look to be a number of big complex software sweats in this space that I would expect to add support for the protocol once it is sorted out. There is no way IpBike will be able to aproach the level of stuff they are doing, it's a one man project in my spair time and I don't personaly use a trainer so have little interest in this side of things.

The only thing in IpBike that is related is the workout system where you may want to do efforts at a given wattage. I don't belive you need any sophostication for this though just a standard gets harder as you go faster setup with the trainer is all you need.

The thing that complicats things slightly is the fact that the curent ANT Android Api only allows a single app to access the ANT system at a time hence my IpSensorMan app so I can have multiple apps. There is meant to be a new Android api which will allow multiple app support soon. I will try and switch to this as soon as possible so as not to do anything to stop some other app controlling the trainer at the same time as IpBike is logging the ride.

What sort of support were you looking for?

Thanks for the verbose reply. Control of the Erg-Mode power is the thing I'm looking for in an ANT+ Application. IpBike is still a good solution for all of the other aspects indoor training though, and works well with my Wahoo Kickr.
Keep up the good work.
