Is there a way to use the watch's built in heart rate sensor on a full Android watch?

Some of the Linux AsteroidOS watches have built in optical heart rate sensors, which are supported by AsteroidOS. But if you are looking for a high quality heart rate sensor, build your own Linux AsteroidOS watch and connect an external optical heart rate sensor, for instance a Polar sensor with the Polar SDK.
