It would be nice to have the option to display direction arrows on an imported route.

should be useful to calculate (I don't know if there is some algorithm to do it) the consumption of the water (Endomondo does it)

Hi Ifor,

Would you be interested in adding the Virtual Realtime Running Power calculator similar to Stryd based on GOVSS
http://www.physfarm.com/govss.pdf
https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/blob/master/src/GOVSS.cpp slope is calculated using a Smooth noise-robust differentiator by Pavel Holoborodko http://www.holoborodko.com/pavel/numerical-methods/numerical-derivative/smooth-low-noise-differentiators/

For suunto Ambit there is this app by daniel27 that does that

Ok I have read the paper. Looks like I would need a LT velocity setting equivalent to the FTP setting. Then I would need to keep the 120 second averages for the speed (easy) and slope a bit more tricky. After that the maths should work in a similar manner to the cycling NP stuff. I am not clear if I can share the same DB entries as I use for cycling or if I need to add some new ones. I will have to get the GC code to check the exact details.

I will need a free weekend to really get down to doing this but it should be possible.

Great you are considering this feature.

I think you can share the same DB entries you use for cycling.

Hi,
It is possible to add external bluetooth gps support? Some phones have poor GPS antennas (ie. xperia m, lg g2 mini). I use external gps with bluetooth gps app. But that app uses developer feature Allow Mock Locations. This prevent to load some navigation apps that I use.
Best regards.

You mean there is a third party app that takes the Bluetooth input and then generates the Fake gps location data stream?

Email the support address I can make a special version you can test. I need it to be working before considering adding the extra permission I think it will need.

Yes, app is here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=googoo.android.btgps
and it works fine with ipbikie. I thought more about connecting GPS receiver as another sensor in ipsensorman, without touching developer options. I use some apps that does not allow developer options.

There is, also, this open source Bluetooth GPS app:
http://sourceforge.net/p/bluegps4droid/home/Home/

Using a external GPS provider with a good antenna, alows awsome track records. I use mine under my cap.

Thought, when i use it with my Xperia Active, i am noticing that the firstbeat Athlete r-r error rate jumps from less than 4% to more than 20%. (Ant+ losing data packets when Bluetooth is use at the same time?)

Love the app so far :-)

Would be great if you could add a so called bread crumb navigation, instead of looking at a map
like for example a Sigma ROX 10.0 does.

OK getting ready for a release this week. Just testing the 7 HR zone stuff... Not done the running power stuff yet, sorry Pepe. Lots of other fairly minor small stuff.

You can load a route up to follow on the map Sundark (route, load). I can not see how having a route but no map can be better. turn by turn would be better but it's hard especially offline. It's not high on my todo list as I would never use it myself. I am an Orienteer so the map is everything.

optional "autostart sensor feature" after starting the app would be great!

Hi,
I think this app is amazing and was just what I was looking for when I bought my first road bike. There are very few things I can think of to improve the app.

One thing I would like is the ability to connect my Magellan Echo Watch. I use this watch with a golf gps app (golfpadgps) to display data and log shots. The concept of the watch is why I bought it. It connects via low power bluetooth and uses the phones processing power to do all the hard work, it is essentially a second display with a few functions on the buttons. As such it uses a standard coin battery that lasts about a year! which is awesome. It also means the initial cost is low compared to GPS watches.

I use IpBike for running quite often and being able to connect the watch to display useful data along with button functions for lap etc would be amazing. If you are thinking of expanding the watch compatibility this would be a good option.

I think the Echo uses the Wahoo RFKLT API's. It's something I would like to do but it's not really going to happen any time soon while I have a full time job.

As part of the very slowly progressing UI re-work I am re-structuring to allow for all the various Smart-watches and secondary display type systems. First plan is to separate things and make a suitable API so that companion apps could be written for any given display device to interact with the main IpBike app displaying the data and doing the main while riding type control.

1) I would like to have a button to test the 'text to speech'.
So, before your ride you can test the volume, speed and so on.

2) I think it would be nice to have an option that when you start your ride it automaticaly lock the screen (like the 'Toggle screenLock').

3) It would be nice to have in the new UI some preset screen. So the user could see some option and decide which one he wants to use, or he could personalize one from zero or from the models.

Hi Ifor!

It would be great if I load a gpx file, I can add a simple route profile "widget" to the main display, with a point that indicates where I am.

Thanks you a lot, your app is the best for cycling!
